Thanks to Jonathan Bailey, CEO, Bailey Gardiner
and a director on the LEAD board, Tiffany & Co. hosted
a cocktail reception for LEAD San Diego in their elegant Fashion
Valley boutique on Wednesday evening, September 22, 2004.
The event celebrated a new partnership between Tiffany and
LEAD; it also served as an opportunity for LEAD to recognize
and thank its many generous supporters. Guests enjoyed an
evening of socializing while they viewed—and in some
cases, tried on—stunning jewelry, beautiful timepieces
and spectacular gifts.
Every organization depends on help from its key investors,
and LEAD’s success is due—in large part—to
their belief in us. Special thanks went out to Sempra Energy,
Wells Fargo, San Diego National Bank, KPBS, KGTV and Union
Bank. Additionally, gratitude was expressed to Bailey Gardiner,
The San Diego Union-Tribune, Washington Mutual
Bank, QUALCOMM, San Diego Magazine, Burnham Real
Estate, the San Diego Workforce Partnership, Office Pavilion
San Diego and Crush.
June 30, 2004 marked the end of LEAD’s fiscal year
as well as the departure of several directors. Guests bid
a formal farewell to four of them: Bob Carroll, Marla Blom,
Ron Phillips and Maggie Watkins. These individuals generously
gave their time, talent, and worked tirelessly through LEAD’s
transformation over the last several years.
A special thank you was extended to immediate past chair
Molly Cartmill. In her two-year term as Chairman, she led
the organization through some of its most challenging times.
As a fierce advocate for LEAD, Cartmill’s guidance helped
to ensure that our region's key business and civic organizations
became and remained involved. Cathryn Ramirez, Vice President,
Tiffany & Co., presented Cartmill with a watch from The
Tiffany Mark Collection.
We appreciated the warm welcome, and those in attendance
enjoyed a truly elegant evening. LEAD looks forward to a continuing
partnership with Tiffany & Co.
